As a member and officer of Teacher Education Association (TEA) at Boise State University I had an opportunity to organize a conference for Education majors. When brainstorming sessions and topics for our presentations, the first speaker that came to mind was Terrance Green. I had heard of Terrance’s presentation from an NEA conference I had attended in November of 2009; his presentation was all the rage. Inviting Terrance as a speaker at the Boise State Building Blocks for Education Conference was the best choice we made because it made all the difference in the success of the day’s events.
 
Terrance’s ability to engage the audience and connect with each participant is a gift that not many speakers have. He is able to bring in personal experiences that each individual can relate to. He then takes that connection and guides a person into a new way of thinking that produces a new attitude. Terrance is able to do this because he lives and breathes his words. His message is sincere and comes from the inner most desire to pass on knowledge so that those who struggle have an opportunity at success. Terrance’s message of creating a new Plan through changing one’s Paradigm while believing in one’s own Potential are tools that allow a new attitude and way of thinking to flourish in a participant. Several of the students were dreading a "grade and study skill lecture" and they were really surprised that they enjoyed the morning. The staff could tell by how attentive the group was for 90 minutes! They had to warm up and wake up and then you had them! It was clear they have not had much exposure to learning through music, humor, activity, and fun…The feedback has been extremely positive.

Terrance provided strategies and real life examples through his personal story and inspiration. I wished I could have videotaped Terrance to provide a "booster shots" of his intense belief in the personal greatness within each of them. Terrance’s blended humor and firmness, activity and more quiet serious times to bring a message that was far more than study strategies. Your message is a "life message". It is far more than how to get A's. Your message was also hit many areas of my own life, both personal and professional. It has caused me to re-examine some things and take action.
